Williams Selyem Winery began as a simple dream between two friends, Ed Selyem and Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, California. In less than two decades, they had created a cult-status winery of international acclaim. Together they set a new standard for Pinot Noir winemaking in the U.S., aligning Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley in the firmament of the best winegrowing regions of the world.

When demand of Williams Selyem wines started to exceed production the Williams Selyem Mailing List was born! Mark Malpiede, VP of Sales and Marketing, and his team manage twice-yearly allocations of limited release Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel. This small team provides Williams Selyem’s very loyal following of wine lovers across the United States and abroad with outstanding service. As an active List Member, visits to the Williams Selyem Estate in Healdsburg, California are available for in depth tour and tasting appointments which feature library selections.

John and Kathe Dyson, who purchased the winery from Burt and Ed in 1998, carry on the passion for handcrafted wines without compromise. In 2011, they brought on Winemaker Jeff Mangahas, to continue to work with the same exceptional growers and make wines in the same style as Burt and Ed. With meticulous attention to detail, Jeff and his team craft these small lot wines using traditional techniques coupled with modern technology.

By following proven traditions of respecting the individuality of the growers and vineyards from which we source our fruit, Williams Selyem wines continue to deliver distinctive, world-class wines.
