In 1999 Suzanne and her husband Shane Pavitt bought 23 acres on Silverado Trail in the Napa Valley and so began the adventure that would become the Phifer Pavitt Winery. A native of Ringgold, Georgia, Suzanne's fiery passion and moxie made her a natural to blaze the trail for the fledgling winery and build it into the highly successful brand it is today. The name "Date Night" represents the winery's flagship Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, and serves as an ever present reminder of the couple's weekly commitment to each other.
The idea for the winery building came from their commitmentto sustainability. They found anabandoned barnthat they purchased,board-and-batten siding and all, and relocated to theirproperty. They spent several years restoring the barn and retrofitting it to be a working winery and sophisticated tasting room.Today they produce a portfolio of wines, including their flagship DATE NIGHT Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. Suzanne stays true to herGeorgian roots with a steel cowgirl greeting you at the entrance to the winery and a nod to her cowboy boot wearing persona on the label.
In her personal life, Suzanne is involved in her sons' schools and their sports teams. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of St. Helena and Calistoga and the Calistoga Community Pool. She loves the great outdoors, skiing, diving, yoga, gardening, canning and enjoying a great glass of wine paired with a beautiful meal sourced from her bountiful garden.
